FARGO (KFGO) – The mayors of Fargo, Moorhead and West Fargo are recognizing hunger and homelessness awareness week.
They’re gathering Thursday morning with leaders from local shelters and seasonal overflow providers to address rising trends in homelessness, preparations underway for the winter season, and concerns about proposed federal “HUD” cuts that would affect homeless assistance programs.
Shelters are reporting increased demand, higher-complexity needs, and a growing number of people at risk as temperatures drop. Providers will outline the immediate responses underway and discuss challenges that require community support.
The discussion is happening at 10:00 am Thursday at the New Life Center in Fargo.
