FARGO (KFGO) – A Moorhead man who suffered serious injuries in a crash in south Fargo has been sentenced to community service and probation after pleading guilty to felony fleeing and reckless endangerment.
Avery Quiner was hospitalized after crashing his motorcycle into a car at the intersection of 31st Street and 52nd Avenue S. in April. Investigators say, prior to the crash, Quiner was clocked riding his motorcycle up to 140 miles an hour. Officers did not pursue due to safety concerns.
Later that evening, Quiner’s bike crashed into the car driven by a 79-year-old Detroit Lakes woman. Quiner was thrown from the bike and taken to the hospital by ambulance. The woman and a passenger suffered minor injuries.
Quiner will serve 300 hours of community service and spend two years on supervised probation. Prior to the crash, Quiner was an employee with the Clay County Sheriff’s Office.
