ST. CLOUD, Minn. (KFGO-WCCO) — St. Cloud Police are investigating a fatal accident that killed two men.
Police responded to a report of a pick up truck driving fast with no headlights on.
Officers pulled him over, and as they approached him, he reportedly threw something out of the window and then sped away.
Police then searched and found the item which turned out to be a gun.
Shortly after the incident, police say there was a crash not far away from the traffic stop.
Police say the driver who fled the traffic stop hit the broadside of another car while speeding, killing both of that car’s occupants, two men, ages 59 and 45.
The suspect, a 26-year-old Sauk Rapids man, is hospitalized in critical condition.
There’s no word yet on what charges he will face.
