CROOKSTON, Minn. – A Fertile man has been sentenced to supervised probation for engaging in sexual contact with a minor. 33-year-old Ilia Basargin pleaded guilty in May to second-degree criminal sexual contact.
Basargin entered a Norgaard plea, which acknowledges that there would likely be enough evidence to convict him. Basargin claimed that he can’t remember committing, saying he was drunk. He was placed on probation for 10 years.
Basargin must complete a psychological-sexual evaluation and follow through with any recommendations made as a result of the assessment.
