Former House Speaker Melissa Hortman (D-Brooklyn Center)
ST. PAUL, Minn. (KFGO-KVRR) — People are coming together at Minnesota’s state capitol to remember the lives of Rep. Melissa Hortman and her husband Mark.
The two were gunned down in a politically motivated shooting over the weekend.
The Wednesday evening vigil starting at 8 p.m. and is slated to go until 9:30.
Governor Walz is there and will speak to the crowd.
The community was told to come out and bring their own candles. They were also asked not to bring any signs to the gathering.
The capitol building is closed off to the public during this time.
