Man seriously injured after pursuit, crash south of Hillsboro, N.D.

HILLSBORO, N.D. (KFGO) – A 19-year-old Gardner man suffered serious injuries after a Highway Patrol pursuit and crash Saturday night.  

The Highway Patrol says a caller reported a motorcycle rider driving recklessly on I-29 near the Mayville exit. Troopers responded and tried stopping the motorcycle, but the driver sped off.  

The man exited onto Highway 200 and then onto a Traill County highway where he couldn’t handle a curve south of Hillsboro and lost control of the motorcycle.  

The Highway Patrol says the bike rolled a number of times and the rider was thrown off. The rider was eventually flown to a hospital.  

The Highway Patrol, Traill County Sheriff’s Office, Hillsboro Fire Department, and Hillsboro Ambulance Service all responded.  

The man’s name hasn’t been released. Charges against him are pending.
