FARGO, N.D. (KVRR) – The City of Fargo is getting set to host the first meeting of its brand-new Advisory Council on Rental Housing on November 4 and they’re still looking for more feedback from the public.
Mayor Josh Boschee says the Council is designed to bring together renters, landlords, and others involved with housing to address rental concerns in Fargo.
Some of the main goals include lowering eviction rates and possibly creating a rental registry in the city.
Boschee says he’s optimistic that council meetings could help improve relationships between property owners and their tenants.
“Creating a venue for us to have those conversations to understand the tenant experience and have property managers and owners talking about the reality of what it is to provide housing [as well as] making sure we put together a solution or two that works for Fargo specifically,” Boschee said.
The goal is for the Council to conclude after six months, but Boschee said more meetings could occur if it were deemed necessary.
