Terminal expansion at Hector International Airport in Fargo, ND.
BISMARCK, N.D. (KFGO) – North Dakota commercial airports set a new passenger record in September.
More than 104-thousand travelers boarded flights last month, topping the previous high set last year.
That came despite a 5% drop in available airline seats, pushing flights to an average of 84% full.
Four airports posted individual September records: Fargo, Bismarck, Jamestown, and Devils Lake.
State aviation officials say the travel surge puts North Dakota on pace for its second-busiest year on record.
