WOLVERTON, Minn. (KFGO) – A Wolverton man is charged with 3rd-degree murder and manslaughter after a shooting in Wolverton early New Year’s Day.
According to court documents, Wilkin County Sheriff’s deputies and officers with the State BCA responded to 1772 Highway 75 for a man shot in the neck. When officers arrived, 22-year-old Jorden Boehm was dead.
Investigators learned there was a party happening and witnesses told them one of the people in the house, 26-year-old Myron Johanson, was carrying a gun. They say he was waving the gun around and pointed it at multiple people throughout the night.
One witness says Johanson put the gun to his head and asked if he trusted him. Before Boehm was shot, witnesses say Johanson walked up to him and put the gun under his chin. He asked Boehm if he trusted him and the gun went off.
One witness says Johanson said to call 9-1-1 before he ran off to his bedroom. Johnanson told officers that after the gun went off, he cleared it and put it on his bed before he called 9-1-1.
Johanson is in the Wilkin County jail.
