MOORHEAD (KFGO) – Moorhead High School Boys Hockey will hold a special “Raise the Banner” ceremony on Tuesday, Dec. 23 at the Moorhead Sports Center, celebrating the program’s 2025 state championship.
The pregame ceremony will begin at approximately 5:30 p.m. and will feature the 2025 state championship team on the ice for the banner raising. Rob Gramer will serve as emcee for the evening.
The ceremony will include a tribute spanning 57 years of Moorhead High School Boys Hockey. One player from all but five years of the program’s history is expected to be represented on the ice as the banner is passed from one end of the rink to the other prior to the raising.
Longtime rink manager and Moorhead Youth Hockey Association coach Denny Bushy will lead the procession and carry the state championship trophy. The National Anthem will be performed by John deCausmeaker, Minnesota Wild National Anthem Singer and 1993 Moorhead High School graduate.
Brooks Cullen, captain of the 2025 team, will drop the ceremonial first puck.
Community members can purchase commemorative tumblers at the concession stand and the recently published “Onward Moorhead” MHS Spud Hockey book will be available for sale in the lobby before, during and after the game.
