Bridge in northwestern Minnesota closed for safety reasons

CLIMAX, Minn. (KFGO) – The Minnesota Department of Transportation has closed the Highway 75 bridge in Climax.

MnDOT says recent inspections have shown additional movement in a one of the bridge piers. For safety reasons, the bridge will remain closed until a permanent repair can be made. Drivers will be detoured onto Highway 220 and Polk County Road 45.

MnDOT dot has monitored the bridge closely over the past several years. New measurements indicate that a bridge pier and the ground nearby are beginning to shift beyond acceptable safety limits.

It will likely be a long-term detour.
