HORACE, N.D. (KFGO) – A Horace man has been arrested on reckless endangerment and child neglect charges and for two warrants after a woman was shot and killed at an apartment Horace Wednesday morning.
Derrick Lobbo, 21, is in the Cass County Jail.
The sheriff’s office says the investigation is continuing and additional charges against Lobbo are possible.
Deputies, Southern Valley Rescue and Sanford Ambulance responded to an apartment on at 7994 Jacks Way shortly before 8. The woman’s name has not been released. The county coroner, state’s attorney’s office and state Bureau of Criminal Investigation are also part of the investigation. Early reports said a man had left the scene searching for medical assistance.
The three schools in Horace initiated a “secured building” response to ensure that only students and staff were allowed inside the buildings until the scene was considered safe. A Sanford Health spokesman said the Horace Clinic was locked down as a safety precaution.
Sheriff Jesse Jahner is expected to release additional information Thursday afternoon.
