ST. PAUL, Minn. – The Minnesota Department of Human Rights says Osseo Area Schools violated state civil rights law after an assistant principal sexually harassed a 9-year-old student.
Under a settlement-agreement, Osseo Area Schools will pay the former student $61,500, issue a written apology, and hold a listening session with the student and her parents. The district also agreed to make changes to prevent future harassment and discrimination.
The student’s parents say what happened was wrong and unjust, and they’re grateful to have received some form of justice.
