CAMPBELL, Minn. (KFGO) – The Wilkin County Sheriff’s Office says a man was trapped in a grain bin for more than an hour before he was rescued near Campbell.
911 dispatch received a call shortly after noon Monday. The man had been trapped for about 30 minutes before he was able to call for help. He was submerged in corn, up to his waist, and was complaining of leg pain. The sheriff’s office says his son worked to shovel corn away from him until first responders arrived. The man was first taken to St. Francis Medical center in Breckenridge before he was transferred to Essentia Health in Fargo for further evaluation.
Emergency crews from the Campbell and Tintah Fire Departments responded. Additional support was provided by the State Patrol, St. Francis Ambulance, the Breckenridge Fire Department and Air Care in Alexandria.
