MINNEAPOLIS (KFGO-WCCO) — Multiple baseball insiders say the Twins and Tigers are making an inner-division deal with the Twins Chris Paddack and Randy Dobnak on the move to Detroit.
In return, the Twins are getting a very green prospect, catcher-first baseman Enrique Jimenez. Baseball America ranks Jimenez as the Tigers 17th best prospect in their farm system so he’s definitely a young project.
Other Twins rumored to be on the trade block include relievers Griffen Jax and Jhoan Duran.
Starter Joe Ryan is another name that has potentially come up, but the Twins would likely expect a major return for the young All-Star.
The MLB Trade Deadline is July 31, leaving only a few days for the Twins to make a deal.
The Twins are home again Monday night to start a three-game series against the Red Sox after dropping two of three to the lowly Washington Nationals. Minnesota has lost three consecutive series coming out of the All-Star Break making it likely they’re ready to sell off some players for prospects at this point of the season.
