BEMIDJI, Minn. – U.S. Sen. Amy Klobuchar is celebrating the storm recovery efforts in the Beltrami County area in northern Minnesota.
Klobuchar and Bemidji’s fire chief, police chief and mayor announced Saturday, “Bemidji is open for business.”
Klobuchar visited Bemidji to recognize how the community has come together to clean up and rebuild since late June. She said “it was one of the worst storms we’ve seen in our state, with straight line winds. We lost millions of trees.”
The National Weather Service determined the microburst storm had straight line wind speeds reaching 120 miles per hour and left a ten-mile path of damage.
