GRANITE FALLS, Minn. – Authorities in Yellow Medicine County are identifying the two occupants in a deadly plane crash Monday near the Granite Falls Municipal Airport.
Deputies say first responders found 43-year-old Mark Ruff of Dallas, Texas on the side of the road receiving medical treatment. The Midwest Medical Examiner’s Office says the other occupant – 49-year-old David Dacus of San Francisco – died at the scene.
The plane was having engine troubles before it crashed near Highway 23.
The FAA and National Transportation Safety Board are at the site and will be moving the plane’s wreckage to another location for an examination.
