ST. PAUL, Minn. – The Science Museum of Minnesota is eliminating 43 full-time positions and reducing its operating budget by $7 million.
Officials say the restructuring reflects the museum’s proactive response to evolving industry conditions and its commitment to serving Minnesota for generations to come.
President Alison Brown said, “We chose to act decisively now rather than wait and be forced into more drastic measures later.” She says the museum has faced operational challenges, including reduced federal grant money, decreased state and local funding, and declining sales of traveling exhibits.
