FRAZEE, Minn. (KFGO) – An officer-involved shooting at the Frazee Truck Stop in Otter Tail County is under investigation.
The shooting happened after a domestic call in Becker County north of Detroit Lakes Wednesday. The Otter Tail County Sheriff’s Office says around 5:30 p.m., Becker County deputies responded to a home where the caller said a man entered, physically assaulted a person, and stole a gun.
Deputies found the suspect’s vehicle in Detroit Lakes, but the suspect fled. A pursuit involving Otter Tail County deputies, Detroit Lakes Police, and the State Patrol began and continued into Otter Tail County where deputies with the Otter Tail County Sheriff’s Office joined.
The suspect eventually stopped at the truck stop where the officer involved shooting happened. Officers gave the man aid until he was taken to a hospital.
The man is currently at Essentia Health in Fargo with injuries that haven’t been released.
The involved officers were wearing body cameras. The Sheriff’s Office did not say which department the officer or officers who shot the man were from. No officers were hurt.
The Minnesota Bureau of Criminal Apprehension is investigating.
