MOORHEAD (KFGO) – A Fargo man was arrested after a high-speed chase in Clay County Sunday night on Highway 10. It began around 9:30.
A deputy saw a vehicle eastbound driving without their headlights on and no registration displayed. As the deputy attempted to stop the vehicle, the driver made a U turn on Highway 10 and headed westbound.
Once the driver approached Highway 9, he made another U turn and drove back on Highway 10.
As the deputy attempted a traffic stop, the driver continued east on Highway 10 at 102 mph.
During the pursuit, the vehicle had a mechanical problem that caused it to slow. The deputy was then able to use a PIT maneuver to stop the vehicle.
Jason Bearking, 37, is in the Clay County Correctional Facility for felony charges of fleeing a police officer in a motor vehicle and controlled substance crime, driving after revocation, and speeding.
