STANLEY, N.D. (KFGO) – A Stanley, North Dakota couple is facing murder charges for the death of a 3-year-old foster girl with autism.
Court records show that Jamie Johnson called 911 on March 19 after the girl became unresponsive. The girl was taken to the Mountrail County Medical Center, where she was pronounced dead. Deputies noticed the girl had bruises and cuts all over her body, a swollen arm, and other injuries. An autopsy ruled the death a homicide, and said the cause of death was blunt force trauma to the head.
North Dakota BCI agents say they found Ring camera footage that shows Jamie repeatedly punching and slapping the girl after she bit Jamie’s finger. Video showed the girl falling onto a table and hitting her head. Court documents say Jamie’s husband Raymond came into the room and kicked the girl in the back. Jamie then kicked the girl, picked her up by her hair, and threw her back to the ground. The video shows the girl bleeding, lying on the floor and slowly stopping moving. Jamie then performed CPR on the girl and called 911.
Raymond and Jamie Johnson are charged with Felony AA murder, child abuse, and domestic violence. They face life in prison if convicted. They are being held on $1 million cash-only bonds.
