FARGO (KFGO) – Traffic on I-29 and 52nd Ave. S. in Fargo was temporarily diverted Thursday afternoon after a person climbed on the outside of the pedestrian safety fence.
Fargo Police and the North Dakota Highway Patrol responded around 5 p.m. after a person was seen climbing on top of the pedestrian cage on the north side of the 52nd Ave. bridge over I-29. Northbound I-29 was closed and traffic was forced to exit onto 52nd Ave. Westbound traffic on 52nd Ave. was diverted onto northbound I-29.
Police and firefighters were able to get the person to safety around 5:30 p.m. and all roadways were reopened.
