ST. PAUL, Minn. – Rail advocates are celebrating the one-year anniversary of the Amtrak Borealis passenger service between St. Paul and Chicago.
Brian Nelson of All Aboard Minnesota says more than 212,000 people have taken the train which exceeds all ridership forecasts by over 60,000 in the first year. The initial feasibility study estimated annual ridership to be about 155,000.
Borealis anniversary events are planned today at the Union Depot in St. Paul and the Red Wing Depot.
