PEORIA, Ill. – The Peoria County Coroner Monday afternoon announced results on three autopsies he conducted – Peoria’s two homicides, and a fatal hit-and-run accident.
Multiple gunshot wounds were the causes of death for 34-year-old Damarquis Richardson and 21-year-old Mason Loy.
Richardson was pronounced dead at the scene near Madison and Alexander Saturday afternoon. Loy was pronounced dead at the scene of the shooting near Laramie Liquors late Saturday night.
Peoria Police and the Peoria County Sheriffs Department are still investigating those shootings, and have not announced suspects.
Meanwhile, Harwood says multiple blunt force trauma injuries are what caused the death of 28-year-old Akeem Alexander.
Alexander was struck by a vehicle around 3:30 Monday morning near Howett and Western, and pronounced dead at the scene.
The vehicle that is believed to have hit Alexander was found later on West Antoinette with serious front end damage, but the driver wasn’t found.
Anyone who might know the driver, or saw the accident, is still being asked to call Peoria Police or Crime Stoppers, or use Tip 411.
