MOORHEAD (KFGO) — About 200 people protested the shooting death of Renee Good in Moorhead Friday evening.
Red River United Indivisible hosted the protest at the intersection of 8th St. and 24th Ave. S. Many held signs memorializing Good, and others called for ICE to leave Minnesota.
“To have a fellow Minnesotan like us who goes out and protests, and it’s part of the constitution that we can protest. And then to be killed just like that, it really makes us all angry,” protester John Benson said.
Moorhead City Council Member Deb White said she protested to protect her rights.
“We’re all Americans, and the things that are being put at risk are fundamental rights and liberties that we all value,” White said. “When I was a kid, and I grew up learning about our country and the great place that it is, those things that I learned about and those things that we took for granted are the things that are at greatest risk right now.”
Another protest is scheduled for 1 p.m. Saturday.
