FARGO (KFGO) – The blizzard passing through the region is causing problems for travelers on the ground and in the air.
Hector International Airport in Fargo is reporting flights to and from Minneapolis, Chicago, and Dallas for the late morning and early afternoon have been cancelled. Executive director Shawn Dobberstein says the wind is the problem.
“It’s kind of a cross-wind, which could be impacting that, and then whatever airlines are watching in terms of the forecast,” Dobberstein says. “We’re above minimums right now, so I was kind of surprised to see that, other than I think the significant winds and cross-wind are probably hampering some of those operations right now.”
Dobberstein reminds passengers to check with their airlines website or apps to get the latest on flight delays and cancellations. He says airlines are also helpful in getting passengers the latest information.
The blizzard warning is in effect until 6 p.m. Thursday.
