HUDSON, S.D. (KFGO) – A 14-year-old boy is dead after being run over by a pickup near Hudson in southeast South Dakota.
The Highway Patrol says the boy from Hudson was riding in the bed of a pickup that was pulling someone on a snowboard. The snowboarder fell and the driver, 18-year-old Teague Rus of Rock Valley, Iowa, stopped the pickup and began backing up.
The crash report says the teen boy fell out of the bed of the truck and the pickup hit him.
The Highway Patrol says the crash happened around 12:30 a.m. on Saturday, Nov. 29. The group drove the boy to Haywarden Regional Hospital in Iowa where he died.
No one else was injured. Charges are pending against the man driving the pickup.
