FAITH DIXON
MANDAN, N.D. (KFGO) – A Fargo woman charged with felony theft has amended her guilty pleas in Morton County court.
Faith Dixon pleaded guilty to three counts of felony theft by deception on Oct. 20, 2025. At a hearing on Dec. 2, Dixon changed her pleas to not guilty.
According to court documents, Dixon filed a motion to withdraw her guilty plea because she was given “bad legal advice” and “would never have pleaded guilty” if she understood the terms of the agreement.
The motion says Dixon “should not suffer the consequences of her counsel’s regrettable, but inexcusable mistake.”
The attorney general’s office, which prosecuted Dixon, says she was approved for up to $350,000 for the “Faith 4 Hope” after school program during the COVID-19 pandemic. The investigation revealed that most of the people receiving the money were Dixon’s family members.
The plea deal in October included the state recommending 11 months of jail time and Dixon paying more than $100,000 in restitution.
Dixon’s attorney, Dane DeKrey, declined to comment.
Dixon’s sentencing date has been canceled and a felony jury trial is now scheduled for Jan. 27-Jan. 30, 2026.
