BRECKENRIDGE, Minn. (KFGO) – A garage and several vehicles were destroyed in Breckenridge, Minnesota on Thursday, Nov. 27.
Firefighters responded to 212 8th Street South just after 8 a.m. Firefighters and Breckenridge Police had roads blocked off in the area as they got the fire under control. Heavy, black smoke was seen billowing from the garage Thanksgiving morning.
Breckenridge Assistant Fire Chief Rob Jirak says a detached garage was fully engulfed when they arrived. The city street department used a payloader to remove three vehicles from the garage so firefighters could knock down the flames.
No one was hurt and the fire did not impact the house or neighboring properties.
The garage and all three vehicles are a total loss. Jirak says it appears the fire was caused by an electrical fault inside the garage.
