Tree lighting at Broadway Square in Downtown Fargo (Fargo Park District)
FARGO (KFGO) – Due to the snow and wind forecast for Tuesday, the Fargo Park District’s annual Holiday Tree Lighting at Broadway Square has been postponed. The event will now take place on Tuesday, Dec. 2, from 6 to 8 p.m.
The 32-foot-tall holiday tree will be lit with remarks from Susan Faus, Fargo Park District Executive Director, and Fargo Mayor Tim Mahoney, followed by a countdown led by Santa and Mrs. Claus.
Attendees can also enjoy live holiday music, reindeer, fire pits, and much more! With the new date, the rink will be open and ready for skating during the event.
Broadway Square is located at 201 Broadway in the heart of Downtown Fargo.
KFGO Chief Meteorologist Tom Szymanski says a weather advisory is in effect through Tuesday evening. Snow is expected through the day with winds increasing to 20-40 mph and slowly falling temperatures. Snow begins to end early evening, but blowing snow could continue in open country.
