ST. CLOUD, Minn. (KFGO) – A St. Cloud man is dead after a high-speed chase in St. Cloud late Monday night.
Police say an officer clocked a car going 62 in a 30 mile-an-hour zone. The driver accelerated and failed to stop. The pursuit started as the car crossed a bridge. The driver then entered a roundabout where he collided with a parked pickup and a light pole in the parking lot of an apartment building.
The 41-year-old driver of the car died at the scene. A 53-year-old, man who was in the pickup, was injured.
Police say the license of the man who was killed had been canceled due to past violations.
