DETROIT LAKES, Minn. (KFGO/KVRR) — A Detroit Lakes missionary accused of having her husband killed while she was serving in Angola, Africa last year has been found guilty.
Lakes Area Vineyard Church released a statement saying Jackie Shroyer was convicted by an Angolan court of involvement in the murder of her husband, Beau Shroyer. He was killed in October of last year. Shroyer is expected to serve her sentence in an Angolan detention facility.
The Angolan Criminal Investigation Service says Shroyer was having an affair with a security guard who worked at the couple’s estate. They say she promised the guard and two other men $50,000 to kill her husband.
The church says the Shroyer’s children continue to be well cared for.
