John George (Dickinson Police Department)
DICKINSON, N.D. (KFGO) – A western North Dakota man is facing a number of charges after police say he resisted arrest after crashing his pickup into a house.
Dickinson Police officers were called to the home around 7:30 p.m. Thursday. Witnesses say 36-year-old John George was driving and revving the engine of his pickup before it left the street and hit the house. The pickup came to a rest in a child’s bedroom. There were two children at home, but they were not hurt.
George tried to leave the scene, but residents held him until officers arrived. Police say George resisted officers when they tried taking him into custody. One of the officers deployed a taser and George was arrested. He was taken to a hospital for evaluation and then booked into the southwest multi-county correction center in Dickinson.
George is facing charges of DUI, driving under suspension, resisting arrest, reckless endangerment, and criminal mischief.
