WILLISTON, N.D. (KFGO) – A Williston restaurant owner is facing multiple charges for using the credit cards of customers to buy thousands of dollars in merchandise from stores across the city over the past several weeks.
Wei Leung “Simon” Chan, the owner of Basil Restaurant, has been charged in Williams County District Court with four felonies after investigators say he used the credit cards of two people that had been left at his business.
Police say Chan used the credit cards to buy big-screen TVs, a desktop computer, a toaster oven, Amazon purchases, and liquor.
Police say their investigation is continuing to determine whether there may be other victims.
