Cass County jail addition
FARGO (KFGO) – With the new addition to the Cass County jail set to open soon, Sheriff Jesse Jahner is advising people with misdemeanor warrants to get them taken care of soon.
Jahner says, because of capacity issues, law enforcement has not been arresting people with outstanding misdemeanor warrants, but that is about to change. He says the new jail POD addition will be completed over the next two to three weeks, providing much-needed space.
There are currently 2,025 people with outstanding misdemeanor warrants for their arrest. Jahner says those people should contact the Cass County Warrant Hotline at (701) 241-1283 to set up a court date or a bond schedule before the choice is no longer theirs.
“If you choose not to act, we will be coming to your residence or place of employment,” Jahner warns. “This is your opportunity to take responsibility.”
Jahner says that while people with misdemeanor warrants have not been arrested recently, those with felony warrants or warrants concerning public safety have been jailed.
