MAPLETON, N.D. (KFGO) – A Fargo man and Valley City woman are in the Cass County jail after deputies found drugs in their vehicle and the man ran from a traffic stop over the weekend.
The Sheriff’s Office says deputies stopped the two in Mapleton for expired vehicle tags. After finding the drugs, deputies removed the pair from the vehicle to detain them and search the vehicle. Jabez Beyan, 20, ran into a residential area.
Sheriff’s deputies and Highway Patrol troopers set up a perimeter and sent out an alert to residents. Detective Joe Gress says a tip from the public led to the arrest of Beyan a few blocks from the traffic stop.
Beyan was booked for refusal to halt and two warrants. The woman, 18-year-old Zannika Wobbema, was booked for fictitious registration, no insurance, and drug possession.
