WATKINS, MINN. – A high-speed motorcycle chase through Meeker County ended with a dramatic arrest Sunday evening.
Just after 6:30 p.m., the Meeker County Sheriff’s Office received reports of a motorcyclist flying through Watkins at speeds topping 100 miles per hour.
When officers attempted to conduct a traffic stop, the motorcyclist took off, leading deputies on a two-mile pursuit. The chase ended when the rider pulled into a residence and tried to flee on foot.
Deputies arrested 37-year-old Ronald Bednar of Watkins, who now faces multiple charges. Authorities say Bednar had failed to register the motorcycle and was using fake license plates. The plate read, quote, “Will Run.”
