WATERTOWN, S.D. (KFGO KWAT) – A police call to Cloud 9 Campground in Watertown has led to the arrests of two people.
Deputies with the Codington County Sheriff’s Office were called there just before 5:30 Wednesday afternoon on a reported domestic dispute. They determined no actual domestic assault had taken place, but the living conditions appeared uninhabitable.
Two children, ages 5 and 11 months were in the camper, which was filled with large amounts of animal feces, trash, spoiled food, and there was no running water.
Deputies also located several weapons around the camper.
The parents of the children, Cyrus Koslowski and Wilha Schmeling, both 28 years old of Watertown, were arrested and charged with cruelty to a minor, and animal neglect.
They were booked into jail on $2,000 cash bond.
The children were placed in the care of Child Protection Services.
