Funeral for Minnesota State Trooper held at high school where she graduated

JACKSON, Minn. (KFGO) – A Minnesota State Patrol trooper who drowned in a northeastern South Dakota lake has been remembered in her hometown.

The funeral for Mollie McClure, 33, was held Tuesday morning at Jackson County Central High School in southwestern Minnesota, where she graduated from high school.

McClure, who served in the St. Cloud District, died June 29 while boating on Waubay Lake when she went into the water and wasn’t able to keep swimming. Her body was recovered the following morning. McClure wore SP badge 343.

The Day County Sheriff’s Office is investigating the death.
