FARGO, N.D. (KFGO-KVRR) — With the Red River Valley Fair kicking off the Fourth of July, security is top of mind for Cass County Sheriff’s Office.
Sheriff Jesse Jahner says that large gatherings like this can introduce a lot of potential issues for his deputies from adverse weather to potential violent attacks.
This year, the Sheriff’s Office will be bringing a mobile command center to the fair to coordinate their efforts to protect all the fairgoers on the midway and at the concerts.
“We plan for a mass casualty, we plan for adverse weather, and then we also plan for safety with with the rides and things on the Midway, so we’ll have, obviously, law enforcement station on site, we’ll have paramedics Sanford, ambulance and then we also have fire so those types of resources will be here every day,” said Cass County Sheriff Jesse Jahner.
Sanford Ambulance will have a misting tent to help battle the heat.
