WASHINGTON – U.S. Sen. Amy Klobuchar and several Democratic governors are warning about the effects the Trump budget bill would have on states.
“This big, beautiful betrayal of a bill would take food assistance away from four million Americans, including one million seniors, 800,000 parents with school-aged children, and 1.4 million people who live where it’s hard to find a job,” Klobuchar says.
The Minnesota Democrat also claims grocery prices would rise, and farmers could see less money.
Klobuchar says Minnesota lawmakers will have to come back and make cuts if the Republicans’ budget bill passes in Washington.
