FERGUS FALLS, Minn. (KBRF/KFGO) – A woman was arrested near the Fergus Falls Fleet Farm this past weekend for stealing hunting equipment from the store and a bike from an employee.
Otter Tail County prosecutors say 45-year-old Kristi Ann Striker of Rochester stole a rifle scope and game cameras from Fleet Farm on Saturday.
A witness called police, saying a woman was trying to sell them the scope and cameras, and they believed they were stolen from Fleet Farm. When officers arrived, the witness said that Striker had given them a bike in the parking lot. After they took the bike, Striker later tried to sell the hunting equipment, telling them that she had taken it from Fleet Farm and that she would sell it at a lower price.
Officers say that when they found Striker and asked if she had been at Fleet Farm, she said she “stole some stuff.” The officers say she let them search her bags, and they found the stolen items in their original packaging. Striker was arrested and brought to the Otter Tail County Detention Facility.
Officers say Striker talked about how she was just released from custody and was trying to return to Minneapolis. Fleet Farm confirmed to police that the items had not been purchased and were valued at $851.04. Police also identified the owner of the bike as an employee of Fleet Farm.
Striker has been charged with multiple counts of theft and made her first court appearance Tuesday.
