ST. PAUL, Minn. (KFGO) – A Blaine man has been charged with damaging a St. Paul apartment and throwing a puppy out a window to its death in November.
Ramsey County prosecutors have charged 27-year-old Jake Scandrett with animal torture and criminal damage to property damage. A warrant has been issued for Scandrett’s arrest.
A woman told police that Scandrett was staying at her apartment while she was out of town. Police were called after the upstairs neighbor reported a dog was thrown from a window. The woman saw the incident on her doorbell camera and later found a dead French bulldog puppy in a pile of leaves. Scandrett is also accused of throwing a miniature poodle into the garbage.
Both dogs belonged to Scandrett.
