
Megan Thorsen (Otter Tail County Detention Facility)
FERGUS FALLS, Minn. (KFGO KBRF) – A woman has been charged with driving while high on drugs with her adolescent son in the car.
The State Patrol says 30-year-old Megan Kelly Thorsen of Grand Forks was heading east on I-94 near Fergus Falls Saturday afternoon when her car was seen repeatedly crossing over the center and fog lines. A trooper pulled the vehicle over. Thorsen’s son was in the passenger seat.
When asked why she was driving erratically, Thorsen told the trooper that she had been driving for a while. The the trooper noticed signs of drug intoxication, including being unable to sit still, reaching for random items, and bloodshot eyes. Court documents filed in Otter Tail County District Court say the trooper searched the vehicle and found 4 grams of a white substance that tested positive for fentanyl and a hypodermic needle.
Thorsen was arrested and a urine sample was taken for a drug test. She has been charged with 5th degree drug possession and 3rd degree DWI.
