TOKYO (Reuters) – Japanese companies reduced spending on plants and equipment in October-December by 0.2% from the same period a year earlier, ministry of finance data showed on Tuesday.
The data will be used to calculate revised gross domestic product figures due on March 11.
Preliminary data last month showed Japan’s economy expanded by an annualised 2.8% in the fourth quarter, accelerating from 1.7% growth in the previous quarter due to improved business spending and a surprise increase in consumption.
